Making Eyes

Making Eyes

Bryant comes home with Miranda after school, and she just can’t keep her eyes off of him. Hoping Delaney will stay out of her hair (who wants another interview?), Miranda begins to flirt with Bryant.

"Fancy seeing you here . . ."

"Fancy seeing you here . . ."

Giving Bryant a sly grin, Miranda lays it on thick. It’s in her friendly nature to be outgoing and nice to everyone, but she’s being especially nice to Bryant. Meanwhile, Evangeline is having less luck.

Comes with the territory . . .

Comes with the territory . . .

A life of crime isn’t going very well for our Evangeline. As she leaves work one day during her first week, the sound of police sirens meets her ears. The cops are on to her, and they’re not letting her go home! She’s going to spend some time in the slammer.

Contemplating

Contemplating

‘Here I am again, in a cop car,’ she thinks, remembering her teenage years. It seemed only yesterday she was getting arrested for breaking curfew. Now she’s in for something much more serious.

"Hey, Theodore."

"Hey, Theodore."

Evangeline is taken to the police station, where she’s put in custody for over a day. Theodore, who’s working at the time, is less than thrilled with his little sister. And just like that, Evangeline loses one of the only people she felt understood her. She knows the Wood family isn’t the place for her, not anymore. While in jail, working out and playing dominoes, she decides it’s about time she moves out.

Hello!

Hello!

Later that night, Theodore goes home and invites Alexandria over. Her belly is getting big now, and Theo’s thrilled at the prospect of being a father. Still, he can’t forget that Alex needs some TLC, too.

Theodore makes sure Alexandria is well looked after, giving her a nice gentle massage. He can’t wait to be a father, but he also wants to be a husband.

A New Face

A New Face

The next day dawns normally, and Miranda entertains herself with playing chess in Central Park after school. A little ways away sits VJ Alvi’s son, looking somewhat lonely. Miranda, ever the friendly type, calls him over.

Deep in Thought

Deep in Thought

They play for awhile, Jeremie talking about birthdays and Miranda listening kindly. While the subject of their conversation is an important life event, another life event is taking place back at the Wood house. This one, I’m sorry to say, is not so enjoyable.

Mourning.

Mourning.

An unwanted visitor has arrived at the Wood house to take someone home with him, and the family isn’t ready.

It's Your Turn.

It's Your Turn.

Delaney Wood, founder of the Wood legacy, wife of Gage Briony Wood, mother of Theodore, Evangeline, Benjamin, Miranda, Mallory and Madeline, Weather Woman for the town of Sunset Valley, has passed away. The family is heart broken, and each member deals with her death in their own way. Evangeline’s way, of course, is the most colorful.

Getting Death Back

Getting Death Back

She decides to scare Death, maybe to give her a little bit of closure with what has just happened – despite their relationship, Evangeline has found that she misses having her mother around. Maybe she never quite understood the woman. Maybe she never tried.

Moving On, Moving Out

Moving On, Moving Out

Evangeline decides that now is the time to leave the family. Things are bound to be rough for the next few days, and she doesn’t want to deal with it. She finds a new house and moves out before the funeral dirge has even been played.

Evangeline's House

Evangeline's House

Evangeline buys a new house and thankfully moves out, saying goodbye to her large family, ready to explore Sunset Valley on her own.

Moving Up

Moving Up

Time continues in the Wood household, whether they want it to or not. Later that night, Benjamin celebrates a bittersweet birthday, joining Theodore and Evangeline as a young adult.

Benjamin as a Young Adult

Benjamin as a Young Adult

As a young adult, Benjamin has inherited the trait of  ‘heavy sleeper.’ He decides his lifetime wish is a perfect mind and perfect body, mastering both the logic and the athletic skills.

Daddy Theodore

Daddy Theodore

And Theodore goes to visit his girlfriend and his new son, a little boy named Gilbert, a good boy who’s a bit of a couch potato. With half of the Wood children grown and the founder deceased, it seems the story has finally been handed to the second generation.

Life truly does go on.
